The field for the SASCAR Winston will be 22 cars maximum (20 race winners from the 2005-2006 seasons, and the 2 winners of the Winston Open and the SASCAR Sprint). The Winston Open and SASCAR
Sprint will be held on the SASCAR server on Tuesday night, May 23rd. This is open
for all SASCAR drivers who didn't win a race in the 2005-2006 seasons. The Winston Open, which will be
held first, will be a 40-lap race. The winner of this event will advance to the
SASCAR Winston on Wednesday night. The SASCAR Sprint will be held immediately following the Open. This will be a 20-lap race for all drivers that competed in the Winston Open, but did not win. The winner of this event receives the final transfer spot into the SASCAR Winston.
The SASCAR Winston will be held on the SASCAR Winston server on Wednesday night, May 24th. It will consist of 3 segments of 40, 40, and 20 laps. Qualifying will be held before the first and third segments to determine starting positions. The second segment will be a heads up start. Segment #1 The first segment will be 40
laps and drivers will be required to make a 4-tire stop under green at
any point during the race. Any driver who fails to pit under green, or fails to
take on 4 tires will be disqualified. The last 5 drivers in the race
standings will not advance to segment #2. The transfer spot will of course
depend on the number of drivers starting segment #1, and will be announced
before the race. For example: If 19 cars start segment #1, then the transfer
spot would be the 14th position. Any driver not finishing at or higher than this
position can remain in the server to observe, but must not qualify or race in
the subsequent segments. Segment #2 The 2nd segment will also be 40
laps. This segment will have no qualifying so it will be a heads up start. There
will be no pitting restrictions during this segment. Only the top 8 finishers
will advance to the final segment. Any driver not finishing in the top 8 in this
segment can remain in the server to observe, but must not qualify or race in the
final segment. Segment #3 The third and final segment
will be 20 laps. There will be no pitting restrictions for this segment. The
winner of this segment will be declared the SASCAR Winston All-Star Champion! All SASCAR rules apply for the SASCAR Winston minus penalties. We will follow the normal division settings, i.e. Expert setup, fixed weather 70 deg no wind, and double file restarts. Winners must win without controversy. In others words, taking out the leader to win, or wrecking to get a 3rd place or better finishing position will result in disqualification.
